Homemade Blueberry Jam.

Rate this post

Hello everyone. On this beautiful winter day, I’m posting my favourite blueberry jam recipe. It has only 3 ingredients and no added pectin. I can’t tell you how simple this amazing blueberry jam is. The flavour is incredibly delicious. All you need to do is try to find wild and organic blueberries from your local grocery store.

Good luck and enjoy.

Making jam is one of the easiest things ever. Simply stir sugar and blueberries together then add a squeeze of lemon. So simple and so good. Blueberries are high in fiber, potassium, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6. This no pectin blueberry jam is perfect on toasted bread, English muffins, scones and much more.

This Blueberry jam is thickened by boiling for a bit and it thickens, even more, when it chills in the fridge.

Ingredients:

 – 5 cups wild blueberries

– 1/2 cup organic sugar

– 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions:
  1. Wash your blueberries in a colander. Use the potato masher to mash 2 cups of blueberries, leaving https://amzn.to/3sxzj7Rthe 3 cups whole. I like to make it like this. But you can mash all of them if you like.
  2. In your medium-sized pan put the blueberries, lemon juice and sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring often until the sugar dissolves. Once it starts to boil stir occasionally with a wooden spoon to ensure the mixture doesn’t bubble over, everything is cooked evenly, and to prevent the jam is sticking to the bottom of the pan. Boil about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Let it cool to room temperature before putting it in the fridge. Then transfer to a glass container or jar and refrigerate for up to 3 weeks.
Tips:
  1. Sterilize your jars.
  2. Always stir your jam while you’re cooking to avoid your thickened jam from sticking to the bottom.
  3. If it too runny you can always boil it again until it reaches the desired thickness.
  4. Store your jam in a cool place and avoid direct sunlight. Once opened keep in the fridge.
