Homemade Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate chip cookie, chewy, soft, warm cookies are the best treat, snack, and dessert in our home.  Every time when we make this yummy cookies  my boys are just happy as they can be.  They are crispy on the outside and nice and chewy inside.  Secret is I like to add cream cheese or sour cream, even you can add plain yogurt too.

Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar

– 1-2  cup brown sugar

– 1/4 cup cream cheese, original  (plain yogurt, or sour cream )

– 2  1/3 cup all-purpose flour

– 2 eggs, at room temperature

– 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/4  teaspoon salt

– 2 cups chocolate chips, or chopped chocolates

To make:

1. In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda and salt together.

2.  Using a stand mixer or electric beaters, beat the butter with the sugars until creamy.  Add cream cheese or ( yogurt, sour cream ),  vanilla extract, mix until light and fluffy.DSC_0528DSC_0532DSC_0536DSC_0541

3. Scraping down the sides as needed. Add the egg, beat well. DSC_0546DSC_0547

4. Reduce speed to low add the flour mixture, beat until combined. Then stir in the chocolate chips.DSC_0557DSC_0561DSC_0570DSC_0574

5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dough for 40 min- 1 hour. DSC_0577

6.  When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degreesDSC_0580

7. Drop  tablespoon-size balls of dough about 2 inches apart on baking sheets lined with parchment paper.DSC_0588

8. Bake until cookies are golden around the edges, but still soft in the center, 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from oven, and let cool on baking sheet 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack, and let cool completely. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature up to 1 week. I like to freeze them too. DSC_0592DSC_0594DSC_0062
