  3. For the sugar-covered cranberries: toss them in maple syrup or simple syrup let them dry on a paper towel until they’re sticky but not wet then toss in sugar. It’s a nice extra touch to your sangria. ( simple syrup: simple syrup is a commonly used ingredient in many cocktails and other drink recipes. 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar.  In a medium saucepan combine sugar and water. Bring to boil, stirring until sugar has dissolved.  Allow to cool )
  4. When ready to serve slice more fresh fruits and remove the old spices and fruits. Add the wine, ice cubes, and ginger ale stir well.  You can also add extra spice if you want even more flavor. Use the cinnamon sticks & star anise and freshly sliced fruits to garnish drinks.
